Community Service

The Tallahassee Chapter of the American Sewing Guild recognizes the community servicee efforts of its members. Each member is responsible for reporting their community service projects and hours. The report will be for projects completed at home. If the community project is completed during a Neighborhood Group Meeting or Chapter Event, those hours will be reported by the Neighborhood Group Leader or Chapter Sponsor. The reporting form can be obtained by contacting the Community Service Committee or by clicking here.

Members receive a colored bead in recognition for 10, 20, 50, 75, 100, or 200 hours of community service. The beads are awarded at the annual meeting each year. The Community Service Chair will maintain the records as the hours accumulate, including the 100 and 200 hours of service. For 2015, the reporting period deadlines for community service hours is January 1 through June 30 by June 15, and July 1 through December 31 by November 23rd.

The Neighborhood Groups will devote at least one meeting each quarter to a service project. Also, the Tallahassee Chapter will have a number of community service opportunities.
